Overnight trekking, camping & mountaineering in a unique location with customized leadership content.

Leadership Expeditions take participants out into the field for a real hands-on experience. The learning process is based on an adaptation of Kolb’s Model of experiential learning. The programs include case studies and readings on concepts of leadership including one week camping, trekking and mountaineering expeditions.

Working within teams, events of each day are discussed in detail and debriefed. Participants are encouraged to reflect on these concepts and how similar events may arise in their own personal and professional lives.

Locations include (but are not limited to):
Andes Mountains, Antarctica, Atacama Desert, and Patagonia

Vertical can custom design expeditions in unique locations to fit the needs of the specific institution.

Vertical is proud to offer community service alternatives as a part of the teamwork development programs. There is much to be learned regarding teamwork in the simple act of giving to those in need. For these programs, Vertical, together with its Foundation, works with social organizations focused on improving the lives of communities in poverty surrounding Santiago.

Activities include:

  • Working with social organizations focused on improving the lives of impoverished communities around Santiago
  • Temporary Housing Construction: This project requires participants to work hand in hand with the people who will be receiving the home, allowing for the development of a true cultural understanding and the appreciation of quality in teamwork.

These programs require two-three days of participation to allow teams to fully engage in the entire process of the project. Programs can be added on to an expedition.
