Maca is a Physical Education Professor with a degree in education from Andrés Bello University, Santiago. She is a lifetime mountaineer, with experience in outdoor group management activities including dynamic and motivational talks. She has guided groups on high mountain expeditions, climbing, trekking, technical equipment, zip-lining, bungee, rappel, canyoneering, mountain biking. She also has experience in first aid and rescues.

Maca worked all her life in the outdoors, including the last four years as Head guide in a Hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, using her extensive knowledge of the area, mountain, trekking and mountain bike routes, excursions and star gazing.

She also has successfully climbed mountains in Chile, Argentina, Vietnam and Nepal, including the highest summit of America, Aconcagua (22,851 ft), and Everest Base Camp.
