Leadership Expeditions Guide

Manuela is a biologist, specialized in environment. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Botany, specializing in the ecology of high mountain plant communities and Patagonia, joining her two passions: Nature and mountaineering.

She has worked in different long-term socio-ecological projects in Chiloe, Magallanes and Santiago, combining her three areas of interest as a biologist: Research, preservation and environmental education. She has also been part of different environmental programs in Colombia and Chile.

Over the last decade, she has been part of several expeditions to the Andes, climbing mountains in Patagonia (Chile and Argentina), Cordillera Blanca (Peru), Cordillera Real (Bolivia), Cordillera Vilcanota (Peru), and the Central Andes (Chile and Argentina).  She has worked as a mountain guide on Aconcagua and Ojos del Salado, among others. She has been a guide at Vertical since 2005.
