Instructor and Coordinator at Vertical, Leadership Expeditions Guide

Maria José holds a Teaching degree in Physical Education, Sports and Recreation from "Universidad Mayor” and is a German Preschool Teacher. She also has an international certification as Ontological Coach by The Newfield Network. She currently works as a Coach in “Vertical Human Capital” and a freelance Coach for Goya Consulting. She worked for 7 years as Director and Physical Education teacher in the German School in Santiago. She joined the Vertical team in 2006 as instructor and coordinator of Outdoor Education Programs with children, youth and adults. She has worked with Vertical as a guide on the Antarctica and Atacama Wharton Leadership Expeditions.

She has a keen interest in both mountaineering and skiing. She is a skilled alpine and randonee skier and has worked as a Member of the Ski Patrol in Chile for 3 years. She practices trekking in different circuits: the big circuit in Torres del Paine in Chilean Patagonia, Cerro La Parva (4,047m), Cerro La Campana (1,880m), Vo. Láscar (5,592m), the circuit in Fitz Roy in Argentinean Patagonia and the circuit of Dientes de Navarino in the southern Chilean Patagonia.
