Leadership Expeditions Guide

Sarah was born and raised in the USA, two hours north of New York City. She spent her childhood skiing and did not get a taste of true international travel until she lived in France for a year. After seeing the Alps for the first time, she knew she would spend a lifetime looking for snow-filled peaks. She has since trekked extensively in the Nepal Himalayas, Chilean Patagonia, Iceland, and Antarctica, among other places. Sarah began her work in the outdoors as a professional ski instructor and a summer camp office manager.

She has a Bachelor of Arts from Elizabethtown College and a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She worked teaching English to Immigrants and Refugees, and managed programs at Wharton Executive Education. She spent the last five years at the Wharton Leadership Ventures (WLV) program as an Associate Director, overseeing training and operations for Undergraduate and MBA outdoor leadership expeditions around the world. Sarah now works along the Antarctic Peninsula as a Quality Manager and Mountain Guide on board the M/V Ocean Nova for Antarctica XXI. She continues to work with Vertical as a guide for WLV expeditions. Sarah and her husband will be traveling the world, guiding on expeditions, and working remotely for the next few years.
